Lighthouse Counseling & Family Resource Center offers free counseling, education classes, and case management for families in need. They recently started Constant Contact email marketing through the Dudley & Nunez Communications Giving Back Program.

For over 30 years, the Koinonia Home For Teens has been bringing hope to at-risk youth. For the last four to five years, they’ve been preparing to start email marketing to get people more involved in their program but needed a little help to get started. They found that help through the Dudley & Nunez Communications Giving Back Program.

Giving Back Program Brings Tears of Gratitude

It was here that we met Latiya Gholar, the Executive Director for Designing for a Difference — a nonprofit that teaches fashion design to the community. They also have a fashion based after-school program that promotes self-esteem and creativity.

After the Summit, Gholar applied for our Giving Back Program.

“I can see how Constant Contact is really going to help me organize my contacts and promote our organization,” said Gholar. “As Maureen walked me through the setup, it actually brought tears to my eyes to see how everything is done for me within the Constant Contact software.”

“And the training provided by Maureen was a huge timesaver and great motivation,” said Gholar. “With Maureen as an accountability partner, I was able to take the steps I needed to go forward.”

Smiling Girl with portable lightGiving Back Program recipient Unite to Light had been sending out communications just a few times a year. President Dawn O’Bar, however, was looking for better ways to spread the message of her organization that provides reliable solar lights to impoverished students around the world.

“From Maureen, I learned there were many ways I could improve our email marketing,” said O’Bar.  “For example, she recommended cutting down the length of our newsletter and communicating with our readers more frequently.”

When Unite to Light decided to switch to Constant Contact, Dawn found the Giving Back Program made it easy. “Maureen provided a well-paced orientation — customized to my specific needs,” said O’Bar. “She was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions.”

Unite to Light also appreciated the donation through the Giving Back Program.  “The reimbursement to our nonprofit is huge,” said O’Bar. “We do not have any extra money in the budget, so it was great to be able to try Constant Contact without any risk.”

Giving Back Program Recipient is in the News

We’re excited to see one of our Giving Back Program recipients, FamilyGreenSurvival, recently featured on Fox 40 News.

Led by Founder and President Gopal Kapur, this organization donates nutritious, easy-to-prepare foods to local food banks and community service organizations as part of their BagOfLife Program.

“As a newly formed nonprofit, we know it’s important that we routinely reach out to donors as well as the general public so they will understand our program,” said Kapur. “We were looking for an easy-to-use program that we could tailor to our needs, and we found our solution with Constant Contact.”

“However, there is always the problem of having funds to do important things when you are a newly formed nonprofit,” said Kapur. “We are so thankful for the Giving Back Program which included a donation to our nonprofit to cover six months of email marketing. And the training that Maureen did was also very helpful. As a major training company ourselves, we understand the value of good training. Maureen was very prepared and made starting Constant Contact an easy task.”

YMCA Northern Utah logoWhen starting email marketing, the YMCA of Northern Utah originally did not use Constant Contact as their email service provider. As their email lists grew, however, they knew they needed more support.

So they turned to Constant Contact and the Dudley & Nunez Communications Giving Back Program. “It was great to have Maureen hold our hand and help us get set up with Constant Contact,” said Adrienne Shaw Smith, Marketing and Events Manager.

In addition to the training, the Giving Back Program provided a custom branded template and a monetary donation to the YMCA. “We’re really appreciative of these benefits,” said Shaw Smith. “As a nonprofit, every dollar we can save means more we can spend on our programs,” she added.

As we’ve helped these nonprofits get started with Constant Contact email marketing, a clear theme has emerged: The Giving Back Program Makes it Easy for Nonprofits!

“I’m a novice,” said Marsha Krouse-Taylor, Executive Director of Casa de Esperanza. “We knew Constant Contact had a great reputation, but we needed some expertise to get up and running with email marketing. That’s where Maureen and the Giving Back Program came in. Maureen made it really easy!” said Krouse-Taylor.

“We were so grateful to discover Maureen and the Giving Back Program,” said Sherry Douden, Executive Director of New Mourning/Insights Counseling Group. “The email marketing training was very helpful and has given us more confidence in using the program. And the branded template will be a huge timesaver for our organization,” added Douden.

“We’re involved with other nonprofits who use and love Constant Contact,” said Stephanie Carmichael, Resource Development Director for Child Advocates of Placer County. “When we were ready to start, Maureen made it really easy.”

“We’ve used Mail Chimp in the past, but we wanted to consolidate. Before we had three different software programs. Constant Contact has everything we need with one company,” added Carmichael.

The mission of the St. Vincent de Paul Society is to provide basic human necessities to those in need. The Roseville-based branch of this program regularly provides individuals and families with food, clothing, and medical care.

“We knew we needed to use email marketing to get in front of the supporters of our local food bank and thrift store,” said Sharleen Schuiling, Social Media Specialist for St. Vincent de Paul, Roseville.

Schuiling had seen email marketing be successful for a sister thrift store in Sacramento, but it was a challenge to find the time and resources to get going. Then a board member suggested checking out the Dudley & Nunez Communications Giving Back Program.

“Dudley & Nunez was extremely helpful and streamlined the whole process,” said Schuiling. “The donation to our organization, the training, and the customized template made getting started a no-brainer.”

Lighthouse Recovery Services LogoThe journey of a lifetime begins with one small step proclaims the website of Lighthouse Recovery Services. This Kentucky-based nonprofit promotes and supports the recovery process of substance abusers.

“As we’ve expanded, we’ve wanted to improve our use of online marketing tools for our agency,” said Maryanne Mountain of Lighthouse Recovery Services. “One of our board members highly recommended Constant Contact, and the Giving Back Program was just what we needed to get started. The reimbursement of start-up fees was helpful, but even more valuable was the time savings Maureen provided us through the free graphic template, the setup help, and the online training.”
